Course aim
To develop skills in Street Dance through exploring a range of techniques to produce a dance performance.
Course description
On this course students will develop skills in street dance but exploring its sub genres in areas such as breakdance, popping, locking and Hip-hop as well has how this dance style was created and how it has evolved.
The class will learn techniques by working alongside an industry professional instructor who will support them in developing their own dance routines.
The course concludes with a showcase of their developed dance routines.
Previous skills or experience needed?
No previous skills or experience is necessary. We are committed to making this and all of our other courses as accessible as possible. If your child has a physical disability or any condition that might limit their ability to fully participate please let us know when you enrol them and we can work on any adjustments we can make to ensure they are fully included.
What will students achieve?
Students will gain Arts Award qualification appropriate to their age and level when they successfully complete this course. This is a nationally recognised qualification which certifies the development of their arts skills, knowledge and experience.
In addition to this street dance is an excellent way for students to exercise, gain confidence, develop teamwork and leadership skills.
Is there anything our organisation needs to provide?
Light loose-fitting clothing like tracksuits, t-shirts and trainers are ideal for this course.
